Suspended In_

Hidden between the threads lie windows into the natural world, capturing the moments we seldom notice; the gradual sedimentation of the earth, the erosion of land and flowing currents, or, the growth and decay of forests and other flora.

Through the amalgamation of different documentation processes such as the immortalisation of moments through photography and events woven into cloth, we bring into focus the ongoing micro-changes that occur within the natural world. We ask the earth to tell us our own stories.

Combining imagery and thread to depict subtle moments within nature, we referenced the earth to create a timeline of our own evolution from the tales it tells us. An ever- evolving story that has been influencing our development and understanding since the dawn of the human era; once the primary focus of our survival, the earth is now seen as a rogue thread in the tapestry that is the modern world, something which we have an increasing disregard for.

Being over-saturated by the everyday workings of modern life we have little time or appreciation for the moments of change that are prevalent within nature, seeing them now only as a fleeting dance against the concrete backdrop of high-rise buildings while we make our daily commutes, taking quick snapshots we deem worthy for our phone gallery. As we have woven and documented the story of our social evolution, we have neglected the fibre that binds us together throughout all of human history.
